Gateway Upland Hunt Club held its AKC Spaniel Hunt Test in Hillsboro, Illinois, on September 13, and BlazE came home with an orange qualifying ribbon. He quartered the field, found and flushed his bird, stayed with it through the chase, and finished with a long retrieve, bringing the bird back across the field to hand.

Our thanks to judges Frank Hauenschild and Michael Gregory, and to the Gateway Upland members who plant the birds, work the guns, and give their weekends so these tests can happen.

A champion in the show ring and working in the field. That is what a springer is meant to be.
